Dog Training and Behaviour Consultations

Dog Training Classes in Dowlais and HirwaunHappy Tails Training is a Dog Training & Dog Behaviour Business providing One-to-One Dog Training, Dog Training Classes and Behaviour Consultations.

I also offer home visits for other small animals such as cats or caged animals where I will feed and/or clean as required.

Please note I do not offer residential training as I believe that by being fully involved in the training you will build a much stronger relationship with your pet. All training is carried out at one of the training venues, at your home or a public park.

Dog Training Classes in Dowlais and HirwaunBased in Merthyr Tydfil in the South Wales Valleys, Happy Tails Training is owned by Nicky Evans (Master Trainer & Behaviourist).

After previously running a successful Home Boarding, Grooming and Training business until 2016, a change of location to a new home provided a great opportunity to re-brand the business to highlight a change of focus to Dog Training and Behaviour Consultations; and so the Happy Tails Training story began.

You can find out more about Nicky on the About Us page where you will find more details on the extensive qualifications and experience that can help you decide whether Happy Tails Training is the best place for your Dog to be trained.

Did you know…….
Dog paws come in three shapes – cat, hare, and webbed.
The cat foot is compact, small, and round, for stability and endurance.
A hare-footed dog has two elongated central toes, formed for speed.
Webbed feet dogs tend to be all-terrain dogs, and are good at swimming
These 3 types can also be mixed, with so many of our mixed breeds today.
The pads act as shock absorbers for the bones and joints, the cone-shaped carpal pad helps with balance, slowing down, and stopping, the fatty tissues of the paw pads do not freeze as easily as normal skin.
A dog’s paws contain scent and sweat glands, used for territorial marking and temperature control. Proper care of a dog’s paws and claws is essential, regular washing keeps the feet healthy and also helps prevent a condition called Frito foot, this is a yeast infection caused by bacteria that gets trapped in foot hair or between the toes.
